Junior Governors
What are the Junior Governors?
Our Junior Governors are a group of pupils who are elected to represent the views of all pupils and work together to improve our school. We follow a democratic process to elect the Junior Governors. If they wish to become a Junior Governor the pupils must complete a short application form expressing why they feel they will be a great member of the team. They are then invited to an interview where they need to discuss why they are suitable for the role and what impact they would have on the school.
Who are the Junior Governors?
At Chalkwell Hall Junior School we have 1 representative from each Key Stage 2 class that form the Junior Governors.
What do the Junior Governors do?
The Junior Governors meet the with Mr Halsall every week and discuss issues that are important to the children. They have an agenda and the meeting is led by a different year group each week.
The Junior Governors meet with the governing body to share their work with them.
They also have a higher level of input into the monitoring of the impact of the changes and improvements across the school and they contribute to key school and fundraising events.
How can you become a member of the Junior Governors?
In order to become a Junior Governor, you must apply at the start of an academic year when the vacancy becomes available.
