PRIMARY SPORTS PREMIUM

At Chalkwell Hall Junior School, we pride ourselves on our PE and sport provision and the wide range of extra-curricular opportunities we provide. Our aim is to encourage all pupils to participate in regular physical activity and develop healthy, active lifestyles. We support staff to continually develop their confidence, knowledge and skills in teaching PE and sport, ensuring that pupils receive high-quality physical education experiences. PE and sport have a high profile across the school, enabling us to broaden the sporting opportunities and experiences available to all pupils.

The school receives £10,740 in Sports Premium funding, which we use to promote and enhance our sporting offer. This year's development plan and Sports Premium spending focus on:

• Purchasing the Get Set 4 PE scheme of work to support the high-quality delivery of PE, helping teachers develop pupils' physical literacy, movement competence and fine motor skills. The scheme promotes consistency and progression in PE teaching across the school.
• Ensuring high levels of participation through entry into local sports competitions organised by SPSSA.
• Promoting health and wellbeing through the inclusion of yoga lessons within the Get Set 4 PE scheme.
• Providing CPD opportunities where training needs are identified so that staff can further develop their knowledge, confidence and expertise in PE.
• Improving the quality of playtimes and lunchtimes through the development of outdoor spaces and resources as part of the school's OPAL programme.
